DoorwayPrep is a software engineering project inspired by a common challenge in real estate: renters and buyers often know they need to prepare, but not which practical step comes next.
What we are building
A self-directed, educational planning experience that will eventually combine a guided questionnaire, transparent calculations, and AI-assisted explanations. It will support separate paths for renters and future buyers in one application.
What makes it different
The goal is to translate complicated information into relevant, trackable actions—without guessing a user's future score or housing approval odds. The application should remain useful even when AI is unavailable.
How we think about privacy
The first version will ask clients to enter only the information required for a plan. It will not accept full credit report uploads, Social Security numbers, banking credentials, or credit-bureau passwords.
Current status
Phase 1 is a public informational preview using fictional examples. User accounts, secure questionnaires, and OpenAI integration are planned for later phases and are not active today.
